Republican Sheriff Arpaio Should Not Support Steven Seagal for Arizona Governor Since Ex-Wife Kelly LeBrock Recalls of Spousal Abuse

The AP reports Steven Seagal is ‘weighing’ a run for the Governor position.  [The title is interesting since it appears Seagal gained weight.]    A recent interview of actor Steven Seagal indicates he and Sheriff Joe Arpaio have been mulling over this idea, but why is Arpaio supporting Seagal when his ex-wife Kelly LeBrock has reported spousal abuse?

As a registered independent voter and woman who understands there are more women voters than male voters across the Nation — reports of model and ex-wife Kelly LeBrock telling media how she was abused by Seagal will not sit well with us.  It didn’t sit well when news of Paul Penzone (who tried to unseat Arpaio for Sheriff in 2012) and his domestic violence police record was released to the public either.  Women voters will not continue to tolerate supporting men running for public office and who have hurt women.  We made sure Penzone didn’t think he was “Above the Law” and we will continue to point out men who are accused of beating their ex-wives.   This is the new millennium folks, and if Seagal runs for Arizona Governor, this will further hurt the GOP brand.  The Republican Party is already hurting in the women voter department.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline,

“Kelly reveals that her bitter 1996 divorce from action hero Steven Seagal after nine years of wedlock left her too afraid to leave her home. …. In 1988, Kelly says she suffered a horrendous incident at the hands of Seagal that would change their relationship forever and lead to a stormy divorce.”

I have not yet come across any official police reports of domestic violence regarding Steven Seagal the way we were able to with regard to Paul Penzone in 2012, however, I am interested in finding out what Arpaio thinks with allegations made by beautiful actress and model Kelly Lebrock.  My favorite movie by Kelly LeBrock will always be Weird Science, and although I am a fan of Seagal’s earlier martial arts movies as a kid, I do not support him for Arizona Governor.  He is not qualified to run for any political office in my opinion.

Mexican American and National Radio Political talk show host via  Carlos Galindo stated on his morning program today:

“The Seagal move is a showboating move that only serves to demonize the border situation, and we must give this idea political chemotherapy.”

I whole-heartedly agree with Galindo — El Toro de la Manana.

Keep in mind the importance of the growing and burgeoning Hispanic Vote in the southwest as it relates to the stigma Arpaio has.  This is political suicide for the GOP and they cannot say they were not warned …. again.  The GOP had their asses handed to them in 2012, and it looks like they want to test the waters with more anti-immigrant rhetoric with the help of Seagal.

Where is Machete (Danny Trejo) when you need him?

The acting role played by Seagal in a movie directed by Robert Rodriguez’s farcical movie “Machete” was convincing because I don’t think he was acting. He could really be a jerk these days.

According to Wiki:

In November 2008, A&E announced that they had begun taping Steven Seagal: Lawman, which follows his work in the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office. The series premiered on A&E on December 2, 2009. Seagal stated that “I’ve decided to work with A&E on this series now because I believe it’s important to show the nation all the positive work being accomplished here in Louisiana—to see the passion and commitment that comes from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office in this post-Katrina environment.” The series premiere drew 3.6 million viewers, ranking as best season opener for any original A&E series ever.[20]

On April 14, 2010, the series was suspended by Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand due to a sexual trafficking lawsuit filed against Seagal. The suit was later dropped.[21] A&E resumed the show for the second season which began on October 6, 2010.

Seagal has a lot of ‘esplaining to do if he wants to become a public servant of the American taxpayers.  For now, I implore him to stick with movies.
